And yet again I've gone too long without a real update. *sigh* Well, here's a bunch of random stuff.
I got my Illinois driver's license today, which I guess means that I "officially" live her now or something. Ridiculously, trading in my Wisconsin license for an Illinois license involved showing the DMV my Social Security card, Wisconsin driver's license, passport and a recent bill with my current address on it; then I had to pay $10; then I had to take a written test (which I passed with a perfect score! Woohoo!); then I had to get my picture taken; then I was finally done. Ridiculous. At least the DMV people were pretty nice - not evil like they are so often. I was also able to get my name on the organ donor registry, and also register to vote, so these are good things, I suppose.
Not much new to report in the wonderful world of wedding planning. Save the Date cards are designed; guest list is being "finalized" and we're harassing people for their addresses; and that's about it.
I'm almost over being angry at the Cubs; now I've moved on to being angry at the Red Sox. How a team can win 10-3 one night and then lose the next two games in a row is just beyond me. At least the Diamondbacks are out. That gives me some satisfaction.
My parents & sister are coming to visit this weekend! I'm excited. I think we're going to go to the Planetarium on Saturday, which will be fun. Neither Paul nor I have been there, so we're looking forward to it.
My friend Carolyn moved to Chicago over the weekend, so we went out with her and Taylor and John and Michelle Saturday night. We hit up Ba Ba Ree Ba for tapas/dinner, then went to a couple bars before retiring for the night. I just need to say -- Carolyn's apartment is AMAZING. She scored a place on the basement level of a huge single-family house in Lincoln Park. The people who live there are millionaires (literally). Her apartment is newly carpeted and newly painted. There's a (free) laundry room. There's a courtyard. THERE'S A SWIMMING POOL & HOT TUB THAT HAVE THEIR OWN BUILDING. She's got free digital cable and free Internet. The apartment came with a couch, table, chairs and Queen-size bed. And she's paying a ridiculously low price for that much stuff. Unbelievable! I foresee many pool parties in the future ...
Let's see, what else ... I went to Old Navy today and got two pairs of pants and a pair of tights, all for $32. That was pretty awesome. I bought a new camera that looks pretty awesome. My old one just pooped out, so this is good timing. Got a good deal through TigerDirect, blah blah blah.
Okay, I'm out!
